“And the day came when the risk it took to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom”
Anaïs Nin
Welcome to my website.
I believe one of the key tasks in being a therapist is to create a way of relating that provides a safe and clear environment for exploring sensitive issues for growth. This is formed when you feel you are being witnessed as you are without projection. I have lived my own personal journey of growth and have compassion for the courage it takes to move from the known to the unknown. I am receptive of my own inner state, which is the quality of being a witness to myself. This allows me to be present to another with warmth and acceptance. I bring a mindful, grounded, relational and curious presence to my work with my clients.
Maybe you are experiencing familiar, unwanted states and patterns in your life and relationships that you are not sure how to change on your own?
“You can’t solve a problem with the same consciousness that was used to create it.”
Albert Einstein
Most of the things we’ve learned in life, are not learned consciously but unconsciously, or in science we say implicitly. Our bodies are participating in every experience and adapting to our environments all the time. I believe change happens when you have the opportunity to discover what was previously hidden from your awareness inside the body-mind connection. Through our work together, you will increase your awareness of how you are habitually responding to life experiences and with that awareness comes the possibility for new experience. Then it’s possible for you to choose new responses that bring aliveness, creativity, acceptance, confidence and joy to your experience.
“You can’t do what you want until you know what you are doing.”
Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais
I have learned that human life is an organizing process that embodies emotion, sensation, image and thought in present moment experience. Whole classes of experiences are organized around key issues like safety, being loved, belonging, power, freedom, support, appreciation, sexuality. Our work will focus on a particular issue as an access route to deeper organizing experience, developing a relationship between your mind, body and soul.
New behavior comes from first recognizing the experiences, beliefs and shapes you formed in the past so you can participate in how you are forming them now in the present. It is through this participation in the moment that you will move into forming new experience and new choices in how you want to live your life.
“Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.”
Carl Jung
